Fall 2020 is Here - Our Launch!

WE'VE ARRIVED. It’s been a long year. Sizing our Quilted Sets

BUCKET SIZES. Dealing with the limiting nature of vintage quilts is a challenge. You only have so much space to cut out a garment, let alone make the block pattern symmetrical on each side. Each set is a puzzle laid out on the studio floor and marked for cutting at our factory, Sew Valley. We decided bucket sizes made the most sense, XS/S and M/L. The jacket has a boxy cropped fit that looks great true to size, or a bit oversized. The pant has a roomy fit, with elastic at the back waistband and adjustable ties at the front. Fall 2020 Mood Board

THE BEGINNING. Marvin Ruby is inspired by my grandparents Marvin and Ruby. When putting together a mood board for this season I reminisced about playing on their living room floor as a child with The Roy Rodgers Show playing in the background - Ruby hand embroidering her quilt blocks in the armchair and Marvin reading the TV Guide. I wanted the historic, Amish-style quilt to fit in the modern wardrobe in a way that didn’t feel, well, Americana. I imagined someone wearing the pieces with a poplin blouse or leather jacket. Or even a feminine boot and a hoodie.      All images sourced from Pinterest.
